Beyond Compliance: Building Visibility, Confidence, and Influence in RM and IG

Session Description:
Most Records Management and Information Governance professionals understand the value of their work, yet many still face challenges gaining visibility, alignment, and support within their organizations.

This interactive session explores how influence, communication, and confidence shape the way RM and IG programs are perceived. Drawing from a non-traditional background, I will share a practical perspective on how professionals can better position their work, connect with stakeholders, and advocate for their programs in ways that are clear and easier for others to understand.

Through guided reflection and a structured workshop, attendees will examine their current challenges, rethink how their programs are viewed, and identify opportunities to move key initiatives forward. The session also introduces a simple, practical way to extend that thinking beyond the room using a tool many already have access to today.

Participants will leave with a clearer sense of how to communicate the value of their programs, strengthen their presence within their organizations, and take action without waiting for permission.
