Session Description
IGIM 2.1: From Framework to Action
The ARMA International Information Governance Implementation Model (IGIM) has become a foundational tool for organizations looking to operationalize governance across policy, process, and technology. With the release of version 2.1, the model has been refined to better reflect how modern organizations manage risk, data, and compliance in an increasingly complex landscape.
This session provides a practical overview of IGIM 2.1, including its structure, core components, and how it is applied to design and advance an information governance program. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how the model translates strategy into execution, enabling alignment between governance objectives and day-to-day operations.
In addition, the session will highlight the key updates introduced in version 2.1, including refinements to functional areas, clearer guidance on implementation, and enhancements that support evolving priorities such as data privacy, regulatory pressure, and the realities of unstructured data at scale.
